Dr. Bernstein is an Ivy League trained and academically published clinical and forensic neuropsychiatrist. A Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
he has in the past run one of the largest academic psychiatric residency training programs
in the country, worked as a neuropsychiatrist on Pennsylvania's death row, regularly consulted on critically ill, brain injured, stroke and substance abuse neuropsychiatric patients, and acted as a forensic consultant to multiple local, state and federal agencies.
He is now actively engaged in the private practice of clinical neuropsychiatry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and provides forensic consultation in civil and criminal matters.
