  Biography of Lawson F. Bernstein, M.D.
 

Dr. Bernstein is a board certified forensic neuropsychiatrist, with subspecialty expertise in the assessment and treatment of closed head injuries, stroke, toxic environmental exposure, chronic pain conditions, and other neuropsychological/neuropsychiatric conditions.

He is currently the neuropsychiatric clinical consultant to the HealthSouth Harmarville Brain Injury and Chronic Pain Programs, to the ICU at UPMC St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital, and to various clinical services at UPMC Oakland.

 
 
    
  He is a forensic consultant to the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender, various federal agencies, and other regional forensic agencies/facilities.

From 1991 - 1994, Dr. Bernstein was the Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the largest academic psychiatric programs in the United States.
